Weeds Across Borders Review

The AIPC has undertaken to do a survey of groups/agencies/departments who are involved in working with invasive plants in any capacity across Alberta.

The goal is to develop a compendium of these groups/agencies/departments which will provide a single source quick reference for anyone who wants to know where the action is when it comes to anything to do with invasive plant management, awareness and/or education around the province.

Anyone wishing to join this listing can forward their information to aipc.coordinator@gmail.com.

Description of Role/Activities

As an environmental coordinator I not only deal with invasive plant control but education as well. Even when working with lakelot owners, I often find myself reinforcing the importance of control and native plants to the health of not only the lake but the local ecosystem. I was previously a weed inspector for another county and find that even now in my new job the topic of invasive plants is still very valid and a concern. I also have a personal interest in these plants.
